A The Rajeev Gandhi Govt. P.G. College Library System One Of The Largest College Library System in The Chhattisgarh Germinated in 1960, Initially college library was running in the main building of the College but in 2010 a new building was constructed with the funding of the State Government and so it was shifted to a new building of its own, Total area of the library (in Sq. Mts.) - 155 Sqm. The layout of the library is still in process. Presently, it has a 100-seat reading room and has initiated its computerisation. SOUL software is used for Library automation in the library at present Working hours (on working days, before examination days, during examination days, during vacation) – 10.00 am to 5.00 pm – including vacation.

Average number of books issued/returned - 150.
ratio of library books to students enrolled – 40:1.

A special section is provided for reference in the library for both students and staff. Reprography facility is provided to all students at a concessional rate and the Library offers Information Deployment and Notification Facilities available and the specialities offered are detailed and displayed on the notice board of the library. New arrivals are displayed on the arrival rack, and all the books are properly indexed and catalogued. Students and teachers can easily consult the catalogue and access books and periodicals. Download facility is available in the library Printing Students can take prints from the library at subsidized rates. Reading list/ Bibliography compilation Author-wise bibliographic compilations are made available in the library In-house remote access to e-resources Wi-Fi internet facility ensures direct access to e-resources. Besides, students and teachers can also access the digital resources available in the library. The library organized User orientation and awareness programs time to time for user to getting the information they require from the library and how to better use the library. The Library works in union with the various departments of the College to collect feedback on the requirements of students as well as to locate avenues where improvement is required. The complaint resolution cell of the College also assists the library in assessing the grievances of students regarding the functioning of the library. There is a close rapport between the library staff and the students who can always tell the first hand about the areas where the library needs improvement and the nature of books to be purchased in future. Our college has also a membership of The NDLI (National Digital Library of India) Club and subscription of NLIST(INFLIBNET).
